Still fighting the good fight

Poor Eleanor is still fighting illness. She had a terrible time sleeping (in her bed anyway, she did fine on J or I) this past weekend. Sunday night, she started having goop in her eye. I knew what was next - pink eye. Will says she has googly eyes. :) So Monday morning when she awoke (after sleeping on the couch with me for 4 hours) her eye was matted shut. We headed to the doctor - one day before we were scheduled to go back to recheck the ear infections and pneumonia. Indeed, she did have pink eye which was caused by the 2 ear infections that were still there. Thankfully, the pneumonia is gone and her lungs sounded great. She's on more antibiotics now, pink eye has spread to both eyes and she has a very runny nose. Last night she was only out of bed for a little over 2 hours, so we're making some progress there. I'm just hoping these drugs kick in soon. She looks miserable!

We had a lovely dinner at Melting Pot on Saturday for Dad's birthday. All 4 of us girls, 2 of the husbands and Dad & Kit all having fondue - it was quite a spectacle! Thank goodness for great family who stepped in to watch W & E at the last minute. We appreciated it so much!

Will has figured out that he can now get out of bed on his own in the morning. Both Saturday & Sunday last weekend he got out of bed and came to greet us. We will be getting him a clock soon and setting some rules about what time he is allowed to come out of his room. I am so scared of being awakened with his little face right in front of mine at 4 a.m.! He's doing great a preschool and learning so many fun things. He also picks up on some really random things. Last night he said, "Mom, I'm lergic [allergic] to you." Really?! He didn't know what it meant, but he must have heard someone say it.

Thankfully we have a low-key weekend this weekend. Here's hoping for improved health and good nights of sleep!
